Certified Tutor
With over 30 years of experience in the field of education as both a Teacher and a Librarian, I love sharing in a community of learning. As a Tutor, my goal is to develop a relationship of trust and regard with each client so that we can explore content and build skills together. My greatest professional pleasure is to see each learner experience the joy of success.
My credentials include a BA degree in English from Loyola University in Maryland, a Master's in Library Information Science from University of Maryland in College Park, and past Maryland state teacher certification in both English and Library Information Media. I taught High School English at Loyola Blakefield, a private school for boys, and worked for 18 years in a K-12 private school for students with special needs. My training in teaching Reading includes 24 formal credits and basic certification in Orton Gillingham technique. Most recently, I worked as a Distance Education Librarian at Johns Hopkins University. I love to read and enjoy the performing arts.
I am available to tutor in Phonics, Reading, English Language, Grammar and Composition, Literature Studies, and Essays for college applications. I look forward to meeting and working with you.
