I am a graduate of The University of Michigan (Go Blue!) and The University of Tampa. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology and my Master of Education in Middle Grades English. I am currently a sixth grade Language Arts teacher at the top-rated middle school in Hillsborough county, where I have now taught for over three years. During college, I spent several summers working at an overnight camp with campers in grades seven through nine. It was a great opportunity to better understand the needs of middle school students, which are vastly different from both elementary and high school students. I am passionate about not only teaching my students the content of Language Arts, but also teaching elements of study skills, organizational skills, and even life lessons. In order to become a successful person who contributes to society later on in life, a student needs to learn more than just content-related lessons. I believe it's important to be a great role model for students at this age in which they are so impressionable. In my spare time, I love reading, building LEGOs, listening to music, swimming, playing board/card games, and cooking.
