Children are able to achieve 'optimal learning', when their stress level is relieved and an element of fun is incorporated into the lesson. As a mother of grown children, a grandmother and a children's ministry volunteer for over twenty years; my track record is clear - I love working with children. A retired Elementary and Literacy Teacher, I have worked with all ages and academic levels of students over the years. The joy that comes from teaching a child has an intrinsic value all its' own. Learning begins when a child is assessed and taught at their 'Just Right' level. This is where a students self confidence lies; maximum potential for learning success. In teaching reading, it is imperative to have a balanced literacy approach, as well as being flexible to meet the dynamic needs of the student. Learning should be an interactive, motivating, and a positive experience. I look forward to taking this journey with your child.
