Certified Tutor

Ad a recent graduate from Calvin College, I have a double major in English Literature and German. While at Calvin, I had the pleasure of being a conversation group leader, tutor, and teacher's assistant for various college-level German courses. Since graduating, I have gained additional tutoring experience teaching grammar, literature, and composition to middle school students at a home-school tutorial. I have always been a bit of a language nerd, so I gain special satisfaction from crafting a robust argument or sticking the correct ending on a German adjective. Writing and German grammar are my favorite subjects to tutor. My ability to tailor my instruction to my students' individual needs and learning preferences is my greatest strength as an instructor. Whether a student needs visual aids, kinesthetic games, or cheesy Star Wars puns to make learning engaging and meaningful, I am eager and happy assist with personalized lessons and activities. Additional interests of mine include film studies, gender studies, and American literature. In my free time, I enjoy singing, camping, and hiking.
