Sara
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate student at Washington University St. Louis. I am studying to get my Master's Degree in Elementary Education and will be a certified teacher by December of 2014! For the past ten years, I have been working with youth in both tutoring and classroom settings. I have tutored immigrants and refugees in Chicago, completed a year with AmeriCorps for Literacy Volunteers of Illinois where I was an ESL Adult Education Teacher. Most recently, I worked for three years as a language assistant in both elementary and high schools in Spain. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Spanish, ESL, Reading, and Phonics. I am a strong proponent of education and try to encourage students to think of their education as a means to achievement and success. In my free time, I enjoy studying languages, cycling, cooking, and hiking.
