Ashley: Huntington tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. With psychology and neuroscience in my background, I realize how important it is that a student is able to connect with the information in a way that makes sense to him or her, creating a memory or system that will actually stick. As such, I find that, as I work with a student, I try to see how the student sees the problem and find a way that will work for not just today, but for the future. No matter the subject, I work with students on strategies to understand and to execute problems quickly and efficiently, and I love the moment when something clicks.
I've been tutoring for over a decade from helping Physics peers with homework and general topics, Spanish and psychology students with tackling difficult topics that I had covered in the past, third and fourth graders and help them with their homework, or literacy with a variety of ages. As a learner, who also teaches, it is very important to me to try to see from the viewpoint of the student.
