The student and I worked on his homework assignment for his Calculus II class, which was covering the antiderivative, or the integral. The student struggled with the concept at first, but was able to easily comprehend the material and finish his homework assignment in a timely manner.

We met to review the student's progress in school, talk about her classes, and start a plan for studying and homework. We worked on her math homework, and she worked on concepts such as plotting points and review of fraction addition.

We reviewed for the student's final exam today. I feel confident that she will do well and be able to pass the class. She scored an 87 on her last exam - the highest she's scored all semester. She has a much better grasp on the material than when we began tutoring. Good luck to her!

The student started reading Brave New World. I told him to go back and answer the questions for those chapters he had read. We also began discussing the novel. I advised him to try to focus in on getting the important general sense of things in the story. We then did a little grammar by working with subject verb agreement, which he performed well on.

I gave the student a comprehension test that I give students at the beginning of the year to check his level of reading. We then went over vocabulary for the story of the week. Then we did his reading group homework. We got a lot accomplished and I feel like I know exactly where we are in terms of his ability and how I can help.
