Tutoring review by Kendall in Bartlett, IL
We worked on radical equations. The student had a good grasp of her homework for today (simplifying radical equations), so she moved on to tomorrow's homework. This included determining the domain of radical function and graphing radical functions.

Tutoring review by Alexa in Bartlett, IL
This session, the student and I worked through difficulties she was having with her homework assignment. Her class is working on geometry, specifically, perimeters and areas of composite figures. Initially, she was mixing up methods for finding perimeter and area. After we addressed these challenges, she demonstrated a good grasp of the concepts. One issue we will continue to work on is her tendency to rush through her problems. As we continue reviewing various concepts, she and I will focus not only on slowing down as she completes her work, but also on double checking her work. She's been introduced to both ideas and is aware that this is a crucial part of her success. Overall, it was a very productive session.

Tutoring review by Ingrid in Bartlett, IL
Worked with the student on Darwin's "Theory of Evolution," and the concept of population pyramids. We reviewed the presentation notes from his class, took notes and discussed the concepts. The student made note cards for the key words and concepts. He did a great job and seemed to have a better grasp of the concepts presented.

Tutoring review by Sara in Bartlett, IL
Yesterday, the student and I worked on a semester review that he had started in class already. He is done learning new material in his Geometry class, so the rest of his course is just preparation for his final exam. The review was mainly targeting questions from the last few weeks of class, and he definitely had questions about a good deal of them, mainly formulas he had forgotten or methods he was out of practice on. I made sure that he fully understood each of the problems in the packet, however, and also made up extra problems for him relating to the more challenging questions for him. He definitely understood the problems better at the end of the session. We're going to continue preparing for his final so that he does the best he can on it. Another good piece of news - he got an A on his last test, which is the highest grade on a test he's gotten all year!

Tutoring review by Grace in Bartlett, IL
The student and I covered each section and focused mostly on reading and writing since those are the areas in which she is hoping to increase her score the most. I left her with an annotated passage as an example to help her answer the questions on an extra reading section. Her attitude was very positive; she is motivated to do well.

Tutoring review by Zach in Bartlett, IL
The student worked on reading and writing. For the first 30 minutes we read a book together. During this time we took turns reading the book out loud. For the next 60 minutes, I had him write a personal narrative about himself. While he wrote the personal narrative, I showed him how to organize his thoughts by using graphic organizers.
