Tutoring review by Ruth in Conyers, GA
I worked with the student to prepare for her test on chapter 11-12, covering arithmetic and geometric series (explicit and recursive formulas and sums) as well as permutations and combinations. We made it through the entire practice test in our session and managed to also make an equations sheet for her to memorize. She did extremely well and seems very confident approaching problems.

Tutoring review by Rajan in Conyers, GA
We had an excellent session today. We focused on finding inverse equations, solving parametric equations, and we devised strategies on how to approach transformation problems. We also reviewed previously missed questions on tests and quizzes. The student had an excellent attitude for the session. She seemed to struggle with transformations, but we were able to make good progress on those types of problems.

We started the sections on inferential statistics. The student reported a satisfying score on her past test. She has another test tomorrow, and we prepared her for that.

The student has a test on Tuesday, so we reviewed his homework and went through the chapter. It was an easy chapter for him, on F=MA and friction. His teacher explained that the difficult problems would not be on the test, so I expect him to do well.

The student and I talked for a little bit, to break the ice. I had her take the Quantitative Reasoning section of an ISEE practice test. There were 35 questions, and she had 35 minutes. She finished with about 2 minutes remaining. We went through the answers and labeled each question by type (geometry, measurement, etc.) as well as identified the types of questions she struggles with the most. We went over some general strategies for taking this portion of the test. Besides the math sections, she also has trouble with vocabulary, so we will focus on that in our next session. She got 25/35 on her practice test.

Tutoring review by Bernadette in Conyers, GA
Today was our first session. He is a very intelligent and bright student. We began today's session with practice for the ISEE math achievement test. He did well with the test practice. He was able to find the right answer but it did take some time. He knew how to complete many of the problems on the test because he was able to figure out what the question was asking. After working on math achievement, we worked on the quantitative reasoning section of the test. He again did well with this portion. We did go through and discuss the choices he had for to answer the questions. To make sure of his test taking abilities, we moved on to the verbal reasoning portion of the ISEE. He has very strong vocabulary skills. He correctly answered 10 out 12 questions. We then moved on to the reading comprehension portion which he did well in. We then decided that he would need to work on more of the math in future sessions.
