The student worked on his Chemistry assignment for ideal gas law and intermolecular forces. He did very well with his assignment as I was supervising his work. To help with his understanding of the overall concepts of ideal gas laws, I was explaining to him real world situations in which this concept would be used. I feel this will help further his understanding of the material.

This week we prepared for a history exam. The student already had notes from class that we turned into a flow chart as a review exercise. We focused on identifying major concepts and cause and effect relationships. We also began PSAT prep by working to identify question type and solving strategy. For next week, he is supposed to begin keeping an assignment log.

The student and I reviewed for her test tomorrow. We went over factoring polynomials, polynomials with imaginary roots, and synthetic division.

The student and I continued to review for Thursday's exam. We practiced graphing functions. In addition to that, we practiced finding the zeros of functions, and reviewed the rules for doing so. She seems confident she'll do well on her exam.

Today we worked on a chemistry worksheet the student had relating pressure, volume, temperature, and amount of molecules. I explained to him the formula that allows you to determine the new pressure or volume.

We spent today going over u-substitution, the ways of deciding which part of an integral to choose for u, and when to know that u-sub is the way to go. There were a couple complicated ones, but we got through them. We finished up with definite integrals and covering what happens when you evaluate an odd function from -a to a, namely, that the value of the definite integral is zero, and why that makes sense.
