We covered mostly what we did last week which involved analyzing and graphing complex polynomials. The student seemed to have very little difficulty completing the problems and I feel like I was there to merely correct mistakes. She seems to be doing very well with the subject.

We did a dozen of derivatives together. We applied the chain rule in all of them, often multiple times. The student often applied the rule correctly, but only at the end fully understood the logic of it. This was a relief because he had otherwise all the skills required to master the task. I asked him to do as many derivatives as possible before we meet again on Thursday.

The student spent most of the time working through her math homework, since she seemed to struggle with that the most. We did some general estimation work too, so she would better understand the concepts. Then, we moved on to some of her English work in the last 20 minutes or so. She has some trouble with spelling, so we will continue to work on that.

We covered problems involving scatterplots, power functions, and linear regression. Most of the material was not taught in class, and I had to show the student how to interpret the questions.

We did more review for the student's Physics retake. All of these questions were solved without the use of numbers, so we went over strategies to approach and solve the questions.

The student is preparing for an exam covering the subject of kinematics. We studied a very detailed projectile motion example that covered vector analysis and decomposition and the projectile motion equations that are both central to solving problems of that kind. The example also demonstrated the requirement for a good conceptual understanding of the process, another key area. We also briefly reviewed circular motion concepts and typical questions that might be asked concerning them. I left him with the notes covering the examples and key areas that I thought he needed to focus on.
