The student worked through a homework sheet and a homework set from the book. Both homework sets involved word problems using pi, the circumference of a circle, and conversion factors. She had some difficulty understanding how to convert between units, but we practiced a few examples and by the end of our session she was understanding them. Great progress!

The student and I focused on math today. We completed activities with place value, division (by 3) and subtraction by regrouping.

We covered quite a few algebra concepts -- slope-intercept form, graphing, writing a linear equation, matrix addition and subtraction. The plan is to schedule another session and to continue to review previous tests in preparation for the final exam.

The student and I continued working with graphs of trigonometric functions, this time focusing on secant and cosecant. We also applied some of the graphs to real situations, and talked about how we model cyclic processes. She feels more comfortable with the secant and cosecant, due the predictability of the shapes.

The student did an awesome job during our session tonight! She was focused and eager to learn. We worked on correcting her kumon, reading some stories, studying her sight words, and she did her math homework. She did a great job with reading her stories. She is becoming so much more confident with reading! I am so excited to see her progressing, and I am looking forward to continuing our work together.
