The student and I reviewed questions missed on her diagnostic test performance. She and I discussed key terminology. I used questions she missed to analyze critical thinking and test-taking skills for deducing correct answers, even when she was uncertain of the content. She took practice questions for the test to do on her own. She will also complete practice test #1 in the text book.

I went over the proof-type algebraic questions the student had on his homework along with a worksheet on translating a line with a vector. We previewed the geometric proofs that he will be working on in the upcoming week.

Today the student and I went over the homework that I assigned during our last meeting. For her homework, she completed the practice test for the quantitative reasoning section of the test in the book her mother ordered online. We went over her answers, being careful to discuss errors. We also went over questions that she was unable to figure out. Tomorrow we will continue with working on math, and she will continue to study her vocabulary for homework.

We looked at some of what the girls were struggling with in social studies. We went through their study guide and focused on the big ideas. The girls seemed to grasp the vocabulary well! By the end the girls seemed to be able to grasp the larger concepts and work through the material at a confident level.
