The student was a little rusty after the break, but he recovered pretty quickly. The homework incorporated 5 different ways to prove a parallelogram. We reviewed them somewhat at the end, and I told him that he needs to commit them to memory so that he'll be able to use them in a test situation.

Today's session went very well. The student arrived on time and sent a list of topics to cover beforehand. First we addressed some additional aspects of the cash flow statement. After this, we reviewed the general accounting process in depth, which included detailed discussions of journals (specific and general), the general ledger, adjusting and closing entries, and pre- and post-trial balances. We wrapped the day up with a discussion of some key financial ratios, notably gross/operating/net margin, and return on assets/equity. I also provided a document to him with summary notes on the topics that were covered so that he can refer back in the future.

Today the student and I discussed in-depth the questions she missed on the reading sections of a practice SAT she had taken. Then we went over grammar rules and test-taking tips for the writing and reading sections of the SAT.

The student and I reviewed for his biology exam on birds and mammals. We went over all of his class notes and the WS. He seems to have a good understanding of most of the material, but will probably need to review more on his own to make sure he is fully prepared for the exam. We also started working on his geometry review sheet.
