We worked on the last section of chapter 7, graphing systems of inequalities. We focused on rewriting inequalities to slope intercept form and paying attention to the rules (flipping the sign, shaded above or below). I showed the student a nice technique to determine which portion of the graph is covered by both inequalities. Good work as usual.

Today, the student and I reviewed what work she had for the week and we came up with a plan for next week's schedule. She has a lot more work this year than she thought she would, and she is adjusting to the new homework schedule that is required of her. For next week, the game plan is getting all of the weekly writing assignments done on Monday. She should have all edits done by Tuesday, and hopefully, not have a huge amount of work to do Wednesday and Thursday. These days are needed to prepare for end-of-the-week quizzes and tests. She also finished up assignments for the weekend.

This was a good session. We worked with finding critical points of fraction based polynomials. We also introduced the idea of the inverse function and how to solve for the inverse function. We graphed both the original and in the inverse function, expressed them algebraically, gave their domain, range, and critical points.
