Hello, I am currently a statistics PhD student . I just graduated last year! I have two degrees in pure mathematics and computational physics from Penn State.
I started tutoring my junior year of college. I have experience tutoring pre-calculus, calculus I-III, differential equations and basic linear algebra. I mostly worked with college students and motivated high school students. My area of expertise is pure mathematics. Thus, I can comfortably tutor more rigorous and demanding mathematics courses which include proofs ( Real Analysis & Linear/Abstract algebra).
I can tutor a lot of subjects in Physics, Statistics and Mathematics. But I most comfortable with subjects in math. As such, my favorite subjects to tutor are pre-calculus, calculus I and II as well as differential equations. I really like explaining how Taylor series work .In particular, I find Euler's formula to be the pinnacle of mathematical beauty.
My philosophy in tutoring is practice and then practice some more. I will always begin by asking the student to attempt a question in front of me. This will allow me to assess the student's strengths and weaknesses. As a former math major, I know how frustrating math problems can be. But with patience and perseverance, we can achieve all your goals!
Outside of academia, I like to travel the world. I have visited over 10 different countries and I can speak 4 languages (I am only fluent in 2). I love playing the piano and have been playing the piano for over 16 years now. My favorite piece to play is moonlight sonata 3rd movement. Other than that, I try to remain active and fit by going to the gym and playing football (soccer). I am a huge Liverpool fan!
Thank you for reading and spending time to get to know me better!
