As an independent school teacher it has been my privilege to talk about subjects I love with students I love even more. My strength lies in eliciting student interest in my subjects though the use of interesting readings and anecdotes, and in forming relationships based on mutual respect and trust. Most importantly, I use content to teach appropriate "life skills" that students recognize as important across all academic disciplines and career paths. My students have achieved success while working with highly advanced content, which has resulted in words of praise from parents and administrators alike, and recognition from students by being voted "favorite male high school teacher" at Hebron Christian Academy.

Hobbies

I am a huge history buff. I love reading, writing, and listening to history, particularly military, German, Roman, Byzantine, the Civil War, and many other periods. I enjoy 18th and 19th century American and British literature, especially the Romanic period. Non academic interests include outdoor activities such as running, hunting, golfing, and sports such as college football (Roll Tide!)
