Lindsey: Long Island City tutor
Certified Tutor
I have been tutoring people in math for three years now. I started tutoring in college and I have tutored in calculus, algebra, geometry and trig. I am a fairly laid back and patient person, and I love math (strange I know). I majored in Mathematics Education in college though it took me a while to decide on that major. I graduated from Virginia Tech in 2014, and I just recently moved back to the Roanoke area from South Florida. I spent a year in Palm Beach County teaching English as a second language
My interests include swing dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, dogs, food, live music, hiking, and my family. In my free time I'm working on writing a novel with my sister and I partake in the occasional Netflix marathon.
Let me know if I can help you through your mathematical struggles. =)

What is your teaching philosophy?
Every student learns in a different way. Be patient, and be just as open to learning from them as they are from you.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
Introduce myself and get to know my student a little better. Try to find where the gaps in their understanding are and attempt to figure out the best way they learn.
