Orange CLEP German Tutoring FAQ
After years of studying German, you have likely gained an impressive set of foreign language skills. If you're applying to colleges and universities that accept College Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams, you can double the practical outcome of your hard work by earning college credit for your acquired knowledge. Succeeding on the CLEP German Language Exam can grant you credit for introductory-level German language classes and allow you to bypass redundant coursework in your degree track, possibly fulfilling your school's core language requirements. This can free up valuable room in your schedule that you can devote to more advanced German language studies or additional courses that pertain to your other specific academic interests. You may also get a head start on courses related to whatever major you choose. Accomplishing this requires scoring well, and you can maximize your chances of doing so with a CLEP German Language tutor.
Even top students may encounter difficulty on the CLEP German Language Exam, as they attempt to review a wide range of content spanning from the most basic to the challengingly complex. Don't approach your review for this exam in a manner that includes unnecessary anxiety and wasted effort. Instead, focus your studies and prepare for the rigors of the exam with the help of the personal CLEP German Language tutoring options you can be connected with nationwide. Whether you are merely looking to fulfill a future core requirement or are hoping to undertake advanced German studies, it is important that you perform at your best on exam day. With many years of study behind you, there are many topics to be reviewed and revisited, but only a limited amount of hours in which they might be covered. CLEP German Language tutoring can help you evaluate your current grasp of the German language. You and your tutor can design a learning plan to focus your sessions on just the particular concepts it would most benefit you to brush up on before test day.
Among all of the modern languages taken in high school, German is one of the most difficult with regard to vocabulary and grammar. With a complex set of inflectional forms and syntactic rules, the grammar of the language is quite unlike that of Spanish or French, languages that often resemble English in their general syntax. Even the most experienced student of German can become quite confused by the complexities of separable prefixes, verb location, and multiple subordinate clauses. Not to mention the fact that the German language contains three genders. Likewise, although English is related to German, the meanings of German words are not always as obvious as those found in the Romance languages. Many words are quite difficult to remember, even after many years of devoted study. Given these difficulties, it is critical that you prepare for your exam with careful attention.
A CLEP German Language tutor can help you identify and address any gaps in your knowledge well before you sit for your exam. They can also help you learn valuable test-taking strategies that can enable you to work your way through problems with answers that might not seem readily apparent. A rigorous course of study must be met with a rigorous review, and this is particularly necessary after years of studying a language like German. Given the many hours of work you have devoted to your studies, why risk achieving a CLEP score that does not adequately reflect the skills that you know that you have attained? The Varsity Tutors live learning platform allows you to meet with a private tutor either in person or face-to-face online. This gives you the flexibility to meet with your tutor at the time and location of your choice.

Recent Orange CLEP German Tutoring Session Notes
Discussed the student's SAT essay that she wrote for homework. She had good ideas and great examples (with quotes from literature and history), but I told her to proofread her future essays if time permits because this one was littered with grammatical and punctuation errors. The good news is that she already knows all the concepts from the multiple choice, so it will just be a matter of executing that knowledge. She continues to do well on the first 3/4 of the math sections. Time-management and practice will help her on the last 1/4 of the test with the hardest questions. Since the student tends to struggle with reading questions involving comparisons between two passages, I read them aloud and inserted emotion and tone to help her identify the differing viewpoints. I also asked her to underline certain portions of the reading, so she can hone in on the most important details. I'm happy with her progress and positive attitude.
We finished up some grammar questions and then did a couple of verbal sections. The student has really started to excel in the reading sections. He has also improved greatly on the sentence completion, though he still needs to work a little bit on the strategy of what to do when there are words to which he doesn't know the definition. All in all, though he has progressed incredibly. It is time to start incorporating the time element. Also, I told him that we should start thinking about the essay a little more. I told him that he can write a couple of practice essays (using the prompts in the practice tests) for me to look over.
Today we went over an entire practice math section together. She definitely seems to be improving her math score. We also went through a Reading section together. I am trying to get her to focus on writing a summary of the reading sections.
Timed the student through two 25-minute practice tests and then went over the answers. She performed very well on the earlier problems, but tended to struggle near the end of each test (understandably, since these ones are harder). She has a good habit of not dwelling on a problem too long if she doesn't know how to do it. Spent time reviewing different types of triangles and how they can greatly improve her speed and reduce calculations.
We outlined a plan of study for the SAT Physics exam that the student is to take Oct 5th. We will cover classical mechanics tomorrow and the next day and focus on angular momentum concepts. Mechanics makes up to 42% of the exam so this is our primary focus. We will then move into electromagnetism and learn induction concepts as the student is not yet acquainted with it. Optics and thermodynamics will follow and he should already have seen all the relevant concepts. We will then close with the rest of the material. I will have the student take one of the exams this weekend to see where he is.
Today, we covered a bit of all topics, but we emphasized writing as this is the greatest area for improvement. It is important the student completes his summer reading and spends significant time learning vocabulary.
