I am a graduate of the University of Arizona. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Management, and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). I am the managing partner of a landscape contracting and maintenance company and have owned several other businesses...I am a serial entrepreneur. I believe in community service, serving my community as an elected city council member (3 terms), Board President of the YMCA, and twice President of my local Rotary club. I have discovered a passion for mentoring and teaching, as it connects me with a younger generation. My greatest tutoring success story is my daughter, who just graduated from Columbia University with honors and is headed to law school. I am also a student and am completing my doctoral dissertation in pursuit of an EdD in organizational leadership at Grand Canyon University. I also teach business, finance, and entrepreneurship courses at GCU. In what little spare time I have I play horrible golf, teach karate, and volunteer at homeless shelters.

I graduated from University of Washington with a bachelor degree in math and Columbia University with a master degree in actuarial science. I got an average of 3.8 GPA on all my math classes, so I am able to tutor in any level of calculus courses or high school mathematics. I have passed 5 actuarial exams (P, FM, IFM, STAM and SRM), so I can tutor in any of those exams.

I became interested in tutoring during college. I started tutoring biology, chemistry and writing. By my senior year, I was running the tutoring center and writing lab. Following undergraduate, I became a teacher's aid and substitute teacher in the public school system. A year later I attended graduate school, where I received my PhD in neuroscience. I have over 10 years of experience tutoring math, science, SAT prep, and sciences (including biology and life sciences).

For the past 23 years, I have taught young men and women in a wide array of subjects, including business, statistics, law, math, computers, sciences and the arts.Additionally, I help students (both young and old) who are working on their bar exams and professional certifications/licensures, which includes overall exam prep, essay/paper development, and multiple choice mastery.During my undergraduate years, I worked as a multi-subject tutor, helping the sports teams players in their various subjects. Upon starting my law practice in 2002, I maintained an adjunct teaching job with a local college to maintain a connection with the students/professors and continue with my love for teaching.I received my law degree (JD) in 1999 from Regent University School of Law and my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2009 from Arizona State University. My main goal when teaching math is for the students to truly understand the concepts and reasoning behind math, and not just learn how to apply formulas and do well on tests. Although they may get good grades, this will be useless later in life. In my teaching experience, when students actually learn the concepts and logic, not only does their math vastly improve, but they also learn to enjoy math, which is the ultimate goal. My qualifications include excelling at all high school math competitions including finishing second at the 1989 Colorado Math Olympiad. I also graduated from MIT at 19 years old.

I am a currently a high school mathematics teacher. I graduated from the University of Richmond majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing Analytics and a minor in Mathematics. I have worked with kids of all ages, ranging from elementary school to college students through various subjects. I have also worked extensively with special needs children, doing everything from teaching special education to one-on-one in-home mentoring. Through my experiences, I have continued to carry my passion for working with children and have developed my skills in making successful and individualized learning fun. Math, science and test prep are the subjects I'm particularly passionate about tutoring, as I've always loved those subjects myself. My goal is to make a difference, one student or one class at a time by helping each person learn incrementally their math related material.

I first discovered tutoring in high school when I tutored young children in elementary math and reading. These were my first attempts at sharing and discovering knowledge with peers and I have been engrossed ever since. Thanks to the students that I have tutored, I have learned to think of topics in many new ways and it is this fluidity with studying and learning that I hope to get across.Outside of tutoring, I enjoy playing tennis and programming. I like to work hard at breaking my own limits and I believe with an impeccable work ethic many things once thought impossible become attainable.

I was not the best academically, but I was involved in soccer. This hardship increased due to procrastination. Procrastination is a nasty habit that haunts everyone. That is more reason why I should tutor others. I have a deeper understanding why students struggle in their subjects. I know where the roadblocks are and how to overcome them. I no longer have trouble hearing ever since I undergone ear surgery and changed my life dramatically. I still feel like I am playing catch up, but that seems not to be the case in all areas. Everyone is playing catch up in at least one area of study.

I have been helping students understand calculus, improve their reading comprehension, and excel on assignments and tests for more than five years. I strive to not only prepare students to exceed academic standards but also to be critical thinkers and curious, well-informed human beings. I recently completed a dual degree at Indiana University and moved to New York to take a gap year before beginning graduate school. As a scholarship student at IU, I majored in economics, cognitive science, and piano performance. Outside of tutoring, you can find me playing or teaching piano, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching TED talks, running, or trying a new food or cooking technique.
