I had my first art exhibition in kindergarten where I promptly represented each member of my family out of Lincoln logs and google eyes. Ever since then I have been creating art. I have worked as a art teacher of all mediums and ages. I love passing along my skills and knowledge to others. I teach using references, from life and from the student's imagination. I possess two art degrees. One in fine art from the first art school in America, The Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and one in graphic design from The Art Institute in Colorado. While at The Pennsylvania Academy I was awarded the Toppan drawing award and Philadelphia printmaking club membership prize. I have exhibited all over America, including in New York, Philadelphia, Colorado, Boston and New Mexico to name a few. I am versatile in every medium and I believe with enough practice and persistence anything in life and especially in art is possible. I am a proud mom of two children and currently reside in Pennsylvania.

My professional career took a detour one day when I was offered a position to teach at the Art Institute of Dallas. Having enjoyed the opportunity and success to teach and train employees over the years, I discovered a formal teaching position to be exciting, fun, and rewarding. Students did too, based on their feedback.I graduated from Texas Christian University with a BFA in Graphic Arts.Titles like Creative Director, Art Director, Graphics Manager, Copywriter, Designer, That Artsy Guy, followed after graduation.Having designed for international, national, regional, and local firms, my skills to discuss concept, design, layout, and technique are well versed.My strengths in production art developed my strengths in Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and several other apps. Skills also include troubleshooting hardware and software issues; predominately Mac, but have experience on PC.Teaching creative, I have learned it is important to ask the right questions to prompt another's creativity. And, I still start with paper and pencil when developing concept, the computer is just a tool to develop it.

I am currently pursuing a combined Bachelors/Masters degree in Social Work from New York University. I attended Hackley School in Tarrytown, New York, Kindergarten-12th grade. My goal is to help students find their own reservoir of confidence and understanding in their work, whether it be grasping the principles behind an equation or expressing their own voice through writing. I believe any student can succeed in any subject when given informed and empathetic guidance. I specialize in math up to Calculus I/AB, SAT & PSAT prep, essay writing (research-based or otherwise), and college applications. I also have further experience in Psychology (AP equivalent), English literature, and AP Studio Art.

I am currently an art education major at Towson University and love being able to teach and work with kids. I have a 3.9 GPA, received all passing scores on the 7 AP tests I took and a 1980 on my SATS.

I am currently a sophomore at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I am majoring in English and Spanish and want to continue onto graduate school to get a Masters of Education in School Counseling. I love to help others in general, but I particularly enjoy helping others when it comes to academics, as I have always been an avid student. That's why I think tutoring will be great field practice for me, as I'll be able to dip my feet in the water of being on the giving end of academic assistance instead of just the receiving end. During my time at school, I was fortunate to have the opportunity to work at Springfield High School where I tutored students both in the classroom and in after school programs. This experience was incredibly rewarding, as the evidence of my daily work could be directly observed, and the difference I was making seemed to have a real impact. This opportunity prompted me to continue tutoring. My experience working in a high school showed me how different each student’s ability in any given area can be. The understanding that each student learns differently and therefore requires a different approach was an important lesson that I learned through my time tutoring in Springfield.
