I love math and I love science. Math and science are two areas of study that I take pride in knowing. They are the study of the world around us and how it works to the most minute detail. That fascinates me. So much so that I achieved a Bachelor of Science Degree in chemistry. It is my goal to put this same kind of passion, drive and excitement in all those around me. I am a current student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I am majoring in Computer Science. In my time in school, I've noticed that subjects that can be captivating and interesting are oftentimes disliked by students because they have had a bad experience with a teacher in that subject. I understand that some students learn differently, and I take it upon myself to make sure that my students' needs are met. It is my mission to make learning fun and enjoyable to students.

I received my B.S. in biology from the University of Nebraska, Omaha (UNO) and I am currently working on a Master's in biology at the UNO. I was a teaching assistant for UNO and have taught introduction to biology labs & assisted with ecology and limnology labs. I currently volunteer at a local wetland during family orientated events and have volunteered with other organizations that focus on science outreach to k-12 students. I firmly believe each student can do well in biology, they just need the right tools. These tools, which vary between students, are based in study skills, instruction, and a positive mindset. When I am not working on my degree, I enjoy reading, listening to podcasts, and spending time in nature.

I am a recent graduate of Drexel University, in which I obtained a BS in Biological Sciences with a concentration in organismal physiology. During my college years, I was a peer tutor who would help struggling classmates in many math and science subjects. I also served as a merit badge counselor in my Boy Scout troop, teaching scouts (ages 12-17) in subjects such as First Aid and Emergency Preparedness. These experiences inspired me to continue this passion, striving to make learning a fun, insightful, and a lifelong process while helping students learn in the easiest and most effective way possible. I've taught freshman-level biology and zoology labs and held office hours to help students with population ecology classwork.I think that the best ways to learn new material involve tackling concepts and the connections between them from different angles. I try to help students by presenting the material from different sides and letting them turn it around in their head and see it different ways. I've found this approach helpful both in teaching and in my own studying. I love teaching and learning, and I'm excited to help you do well in your own academic career!
