About Me

I am Mrs. Michelle Valenca and I have been teaching for over 20 years. I am a lifelong learner and I enjoy watching others learn and enjoy science! I like to create fun and engaging lessons. I have my Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and my Master of Arts in Secondary Education both from the University of Rhode Island. I have worked in aquariums, interned with professors, and have been a TA for college lab classes. I have over 10 years of tutoring experience in all subject areas. For science, I have tutored in biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy, and environmental science just to name a few! I have tutored a great deal in math as well from general elementary math to the more advanced classes such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. I have also tutored students who are struggling readers and helped them improve from below grade level to at grade level in just a few short months. I love to tutor and help students succeed, not just the younger students but also the adult learners. I have helped aspiring teachers pass the FTCE and also future military personnel pass the ASVAB.
