Tutoring review by Elizabeth in Saint Matthews, KY
The student and I had a good session today going over adding and subtracting integers as well as combining like terms. We reviewed his homework and did his test corrections. We started working with the highlighter and that seemed to help him focus on the negative signs that he often overlooks. Overall I think he has a good grasp on the material.

Tutoring review by Joseph in Saint Matthews, KY
The student and I went over a series of lecture notes and problems from her online (laptop) classroom notes, since she did not attend school due to illness. We went over compositions of transformations and rotations of points, lines, and shapes. Some problems went through a methodology of constructing lines from an original shape onto new corner points, when rotated. Other problems dealt with rotating 90, 180, 270, or 360 degrees around the center (0,0) point. Most problems relied on a combination of graphical, geometrical, and trigonometric methods to solve. The student mentioned that she received an 83 and a 100% on her last exam (written and calculator).

He had to see that 10 - 4 - 3 = 3 and not 9 by displaying a few examples. He was given more practice with these concepts.

Tutoring review by Talia in Saint Matthews, KY
The student has a Spanish test coming up tomorrow as well as a math assignment due tomorrow. She started with her algebra 1 assignment which was on solving systems of equations. Because this assignment dealt with absolute value, she had a hard time starting the first few problems because she was unsure of how she could get two solutions from the problem. I gave her a few examples and showed her that with absolute value, we would get the same answer from two different values of the variable. When she finished her math homework, we moved onto studying for her Spanish test. She was given a set of questions to work on that will be part of the test including how to conjugate the verb SER as well as how to conjugate, in general, AR, IR, and ER verbs. She needed a review of the verb SER, which she should know by now and which I told her is very important to know from now on. We did some sentence practice as well, which is a great way to learn the language and allows her to practice conjugation, vocabulary and general rules all at the same time. I had her finish her study guide for tomorrow's test and asked that she go over it many times until she is 100% confident on the material.

We worked heavily on substitution and elimination reactions. I gave the student the table of wonder and explained how to use it. I've offered extra practice problems on her request, just text me and I can draw a few of them out for you and get answers when you want.

Then she worked on social studies homework on the basic characteristics of Judaism and Christianity.
