I am a graduate of Brown University, from which I received a Bachelors of Arts in Medieval Cultures and Biology. In college, I have extensive experience as a tutor for introductory biology and statistics courses, as well as a teaching assistant for advanced biology courses such as genetics. While I can tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about the sciences, such as biology, chemistry, and physics. I believe that forming a strong relationship with my tutees is the key to success, and will structure and refit my own lesson plans around their learning needs.

I am currently a rising senior at Vanderbilt University majoring in Human and Organizational Development with a minor in Chinese. I chose a major and minor combination that focuses on international business because I grew up in Singapore and would love to eventually return back to Asia. Throughout my time living in Asia, I traveled extensively and had the opportunity to work with children in Thailand and Cambodia, and help inspire them to pursue an education. Based on my experiences abroad, I believe that education has the power to change an individual's life for the better.

I am a graduate of UC San Diego with a Bachelors in Neuroscience through the Psychology department. After graduating, I went to Michigan Technological University and did some graduate work, before moving to Texas to be closer to my parents. I did my alternative certification program through Texas Teachers and am highly qualified to teach Science for grades 7-12. I have been a teacher in public and charter schools for the last four years, and have tutoring experience extending over ten years behind me as well.

I'm a sophomore at Duke University. I'm pre-med studying psychology with a minor in biology and chemistry. I work in the admissions office as a tour guide and I love getting to know high schoolers interested in the college admissions process!

I am a huge component of constant feedback. A session may be wasted if feedback is only provided in the last five minutes. I am a graduate of Georgetown University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in International Politics with a concentration on Foreign Policy. I also earned a Certificate in Latin American Studies and am a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, The National Political Science Honor Society. I have experience tutoring students in both the SAT and the SSAT. Additionally, my time as an 8th Grade Science teacher here in Dallas has prepared me for the curriculum and challenges facing students in the area. While I offer tutoring in a broad range of subjects from foreign languages to grammar and writing to math and science, I find Physics to be the most enjoyable subject to teach. I see Physics as the science that allows all the other sciences to occur, and I find it helpful to use Physics demonstrations when studying the subject. When it comes to tutoring, I believe that whoever is doing the talking is doing the learning, so my students will be doing the leg work when it comes to their learning. I believe that every student can achieve success in school; each student just learns at their own pace and in their own way. When I have free time, I enjoy reading a good book, playing a game of tennis, or participating in or watching theatrical events.

I am currently fluent in English and Spanish, conversational in Italian, and I'll be tackling Mandarin next. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from the University of Oklahoma with an emphasis in Acting. I was lucky enough to attend OU on a National Merit Scholarship that covered my expenses almost entirely, so the National Merit qualification process is one that I deeply believe in and understand. Successful test taking is as much a product of understanding the test itself as it is the material being covered, and having one on one guidance in understanding how to take a test can markedly improve a score. An important part of gaining that understanding is working in the ways that each student learns best. In fact, I think that is one of the most fulfilling things about tutoring: finding the learning methods innate in each student and helping shape those instincts into tools for learning any material.
