Hey there! My background in neurological and behavioral child development from UC San Diego makes me well trained in designing lessons for students based on their developmental abilities and skill level. As a learning science researcher at the Swartz Center for Computational Neuroscience, a useful strategy I incorporate with students is embodied learning. I've tutored in a variety of subjects including math, reading, phonics, writing, robotics, and computer science. I've also taught english to international students who moved abroad. For the younger students I design curriculums with gamified lessons. It's important to nourish a love for learning from a young age which can be hard to do with kids, but I've seen that it can be exciting with the right approach. I'm certified in learning experience design, meaning that I always start planning for sessions well in advance with an iterative process. After assessing the student's abilities and goals I game plan from the start how the next few months of sessions will go.
