About Me

I am a graduate of both Indiana Wesleyan University and Ball State University, with a bachelor's degree in K-12 music education and a master's degree in music education. I have taught music, mostly elementary, but also middle school and high school. I also taught fine arts classes for a few years as an adjunct professor at Indiana Wesleyan University. During my 33-year career as a music educator I spent quite a bit of time working with small groups of students and individual students on math and reading skills. During the years I spent at the middle school level I spent one class period each day tutoring students who came into the resource room seeking help with a variety of subjects. I firmly believe that with a little assistance and a small boost of self-confidence all students can succeed! I enjoy seeing the light bulb turn on in students' minds when they finally grasp a concept or master a skill.
