About Me

I am a graduate of Penn State University with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Sociology. I also graduated with an Associates Degree in Mathematics and Science from Atlantic Cape Community College in New Jersey. I have also almost completed my teaching degree in the Social Sciences and have done graduate work at Penn State. I currently live in Central Pennsylvania and I am passionate about teaching and coaching. I have been both for my entire adult life starting in my early 20's. I LOVE to see light bulbs come on whether that is in the classroom, online or out coaching the pole vault in track and field. I have been a Mathematics tutor for one of the local school districts since the late 2000s until the pandemic. The courses I would tutor included Algebra 1, Algebra 2 and Geometry. Along with this I was a Mathematics tutor for student-athletes focusing on College Algebra. For 30+ years I was a Sociology, Social Psychology, and Criminology teacher at the university in the classroom. In 2012, I moved some of my teaching online and became the course author if the Introduction to Sociology course teaching online during the fall, spring and summer. I enjoy surfing at the Southern New Jersey shore, tennis, exercising and golf but I am definitely not that great at golf!
