- I have a Bachelor of Arts in Biology with minors in psychology and chemistry.
About Me
I am a graduate student at the University of Minnesota studying for a Ph.D. in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Education with a focus on Biology Education. I have received my Master of Science in Biology from Texas State University and have done research on how biology faculty develops and implements a new active-learning biology course. Currently, I have been focusing on writing a curriculum for an introductory biology course and teaching 3rd grade. I have worked with a range of students at different educational levels. I teach a wide range of subjects; however, I find biology to be my passion. One of my passions is working with students to find their strengths when they think they have none and to help them learn the way that works for them. In my experience, learning can be fun and I want everyone to enjoy learning different topics the way they need to and I strive to help them find what can be interesting to them when they do not think it could be. When I am not working, I enjoy reading a variety of books that can be a story to dive into or more informational books that are to keep me learning about things I feel I want to learn more about.
Hobbies & Interests
My interests/hobbies include reading, learning about things I find interesting throughout the day, puzzles and legos, and games when I can spare the time.
