My goal is to find the most effective teaching method for each student, to help them to enjoy learning more, by finding out what they have a passion about, and help them to engage in the subjects you choose. Recent Teaching and Tutoring: I have taught in K to 6th grade in Public Schools, Private Preschools, taught online at Epic Charter Schools, and tutored many students for many years. I help my students improve their test scores by teaching phonics sounds, sight words, and fluency, This includes: accuracy, rate, expression, and comprehension. My experience has taught me how to help students learn the objectives for each grade level to build on each other, to gain success. My Teaching Style: I include a variety of strategies, starting with modeling and guiding the students through the skill, followed by practice and checking to ensure understanding. A song may be used to review, or I create slideshows and videos to help visualize and review concepts. My creative approach helps to engage students, and helps my students to look forward to discovering new ideas. I teach study skills, practice, and review techniques to help students develop a solid foundation for lifelong learning. Experience: I graduated from ORU, with degrees in Early Childhood, and Elementary Education, with a Bachelor's of Science. I also have over 48 classes towards a Reading Specialist, also. In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family. I have been married for 29 years, have 4 children from ages 16 to 24. I look forward to meeting you!
