About Me

I believe that all students have a right to learn, regardless of race, socio-economic status or abilities. Every classroom should be a safe, caring community where students are free to speak their mind and grow. My background and experiences of growing up as an immigrant who had to learn English as a Second Language, have always given me a unique perspective of what students need in order to succeed. The great educators in my life taught me that an education is the gateway to success and happiness, I am proud to be living proof of this. I have made it my life's mission to be a role model and an advocate of all students who desire and deserve to achieve their dreams through furthering their education. I completed a bachelor of arts degree from the California State University, Fullerton; a masters degree from National University and a Doctorate of Education from Trident International University. I have 25 years of experience in secondary education; 4 years as a math college tutor, 12 years as a secondary mathematics instructor and 9 years as an administrator. Currently, I work as a secondary assistant principal. I have experience teaching basic Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Algebra II Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus. I also speak Spanish fluently. In my spare time, I love to read, travel, work on arts and crafts and puzzles. Currently, I am spending most of my spare time chasing after my toddler. I am passionate about teaching and helping students succeed in Math. I look forward to the opportunity to support you in Secondary Mathematics.
