About Me

Hi, my name is Kandice Jones and I'm a recent graduate of Smith College (Class of 2019). I received my Bachelor of Arts in both Government and Economics with concentrations in African Studies and Development. Since graduation, I've traveled extensively and even worked abroad as an ESL teacher in Morocco. By working at a language center, I experienced and became comfortable teaching various ages and levels. Aside from teaching, I also hosted regularly attended book clubs and entrepreneurship programs for youth. Despite only having formal experience tutoring English and other related subjects, I still have a passion for Mathematics. Growing up, I hated math because I thought I could never learn the subject. It wasn't until college, where I reconsidered the possibility. Through many tutoring sessions and long nights of practice, the subject became less of a chore and more of a hobby. Looking back, I wish that I had someone to assist and push me past my limits, someone who had the patience to explain steps thoroughly and guide me through answering my questions. Although I didn't have such a person when I was younger, I would love to be that for others. It's important for me to show all my students that anything is possible with the right amount of dedication, patience, and support.
