About Me

Welcome to classes with Professor Oliveira! I'm excited to meet you and help you to reach your goals. I'm currently a licensed K-12 substitute teacher in Nevada. Over 20 years of tutoring and classroom teaching, I have taught students from 92 countries so far. This vast and varied experience has enabled me to teach future teachers in three universities, including the world class Pontificia Universidade Catolica and the Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I earned my PhD in syntax: a linguistics study of grammar. Additionally, I am an expert at assessment in my field, having served as an examiner for TOEFL, IELTS and International Baccalaureate exams.
