I'm currently pursuing an MS in Statistics at Portland State University. Between Brown and Portland State, I have traveled to most countries in Europe as well as many countries in Asia. I have been tutoring Math and Statistics at PCC since 2013, and I enjoy working with students from all different backgrounds. I have tutored Algebra (both beginning and college level), the Calculus series, and even courses in Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. I particularly love Statistics because it is used in so many ways in the modern world! In my spare time, I love being outdoors and practicing meditation.

I am a writer of nearly ten years. In this realm, I have focused mainly on short fiction stories as well as the odd novel. In another life I also taught yoga regularly for a year, a discipline in which I learned to teach from my own experience and convey myself in front of large audiences.

I am a current undergraduate sophomore at Harvard College majoring in biology. I also have some previous tutoring experience and I enjoy working with students. I'm patient, I have high expectations for work, I am passionate about learning, and I am excited to share what I know.

I'm outside, I like to skateboard and try to land new tricks, either on my street or at the skate park.

Over the past five years, I have taught a variety of physical science courses at the collegiate level to both pre-college, college, and advanced high school students from which I have cultivated a strong student-centered teaching philosophy based on responding to the needs of my students. While I tutor a variety of subjects, my favorite is Geology because it allows me to always be connected to what happens around me. In my spare time, I enjoy sewing, reading, running, swimming, and hiking. I love traveling the world any time I have the chance.

I am so excited to teach online this year. For the last seven years, I taught all over the country (Charleston, SC, Nashville, TN, Portland, OR, and Vancouver, WA) and also earned a master's degree in education from Johns Hopkins University along the way.

I am a recent graduate of Michigan State University where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics along with a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Studies. Throughout my work as a tutor I have enjoyed helping students and peers one on one. I always love a good aha! moment where I can really tell that the subject matter is clicking. I take personal pride in watching my students learn. Most of my experience is in tutoring for high school and college level math and music. I also have experience assisting with high school Spanish. When I teach I try to help students fully understand the concepts and logic behind subjects. This way they not only can apply them on a test but they learn useful skills and ways to think and learn.
