I'm a premedical student at Cornell University with extensive experience tutoring students, especially in chemistry at the high school and undergraduate level, writing at the high school and undergraduate level, and SAT/ACT prep.

I am a undergraduate freshman of the University of Michigan, studying business at the Ross School of Business. Working together with students and having a good time while seeing steady improvements has proven to provide me great joy. I believe that communication and relationship building is crucial for students to open up about their struggles and also for me to identify problems they don't realize they can improve on, so this is a key aspect of all of my lessons. During my free time, I enjoy playing sports or snacking on desserts while binge-watching Friends!
I am a Computer Science graduate from the University of Michigan, initially from central New Jersey. I have worked to tutor students through Varsity Tutors for around 4 years. I am confident in my abilities to tutor with college admissions exams such as the SAT and ACT, including specialized SAT subject tests. I also tutor in math, until Multivariable Calculus, and can help with computer science skills and languages. I believe teaching is best done through discussion and conversation, and lead my tutoring sessions with this mentality. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis, piano, and exploring new coffee shops!
I'm working towards a B.S. in Physics at Michigan State University with a minor in Computational Mathematics, Science, and Engineering. I've made the Chancellor's List every semester and am a member of my university's Honors College. I've worked with students as young as 11 and as old as 25 for the past couple of years, both online and in-person. Since I'm still a student myself, I can relate to clients and teach in a way that creates a comfortable and safe space. I tutor a broad range of subjects and would love to help you!
AP Computer Science isn't listed among Hannah's core subjects, but her physics degree required writing code to model systems, analyze data, and solve computational problems — skills that map directly onto the algorithmic thinking and logical reasoning the AP exam tests. She's strongest at teaching students to slow down and trace through control flow and conditionals methodically, the same systematic approach her physics training drilled into her.
Currently studying computer science at MIT, Brice writes Java and Python regularly enough that AP Computer Science A topics like inheritance, polymorphism, and recursive methods feel like second nature rather than exam abstractions. He teaches the *why* behind each design pattern — why you'd use an ArrayList over an array, why a method should return a value instead of printing it — so students build real programming intuition. I am a master's student studying computer science at the University of Pennsylvania. I have been working as a private tutor for two years now, and I am currently a teaching assistant for an introductory course in discrete math at Penn. I love helping students conquer their fears of math and computer science, and I hope to dispel the myth that success in these areas requires special talent.
I am a current sophomore at Cornell University pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering. I have done extensive coursework in biology, physics, chemistry, math, and lab sciences. I love applying engineering problem-solving skills to the biological sciences. For the past year, I have been a teaching assistant for introductory biology classes. In my free time, I participate in cancer immunotherapy research which focuses on melanoma.
Hackathons and robotics competitions taught June to debug under pressure and think through code systematically — exactly the skills AP Computer Science A tests on free-response questions. Her electrical engineering studies at Brown mean she understands computing from the hardware up, giving her a concrete way to explain why Java handles variables, memory, and control flow the way it does.
The AP Computer Science exam tests more than just writing code — it demands quick reasoning about recursion, sorting algorithms, and array manipulation under time pressure. Kirollos, a CS major at NYU, unpacks each of these topics by having students trace through code by hand before ever touching a keyboard, building the kind of fluency the exam rewards.
I am very passionate about teaching material in a way that works with each student's personal learning needs and making sure that they understand the material at its core, not just how to answer a test question. Because I majored in Neuroscience, I have expertise in a wide range of sciences, as Neuroscience is a very interdisciplinary subject. I have also had extensive experience in Computer Science. Outside of Neuroscience, I devoted a lot of time to studying the humanities. I even started a blog my junior year as an outlet to further pursue these academic interests! As a result, I also enjoy tutoring in Literature, English, and Writing.
I am interested in Physics and Mathematics and working out practical problems from plumbing to electronics. I will someday go back for my Ph.D. in Physics but until then I am looking to grow as an engineer or computer programmer.
The AP Computer Science exam tests both coding fluency and the ability to trace through unfamiliar code under time pressure. Shlomo tackles both sides — drilling array manipulation, recursion, and ArrayList operations while also teaching the test-taking strategy that keeps students from burning time on free-response questions. His math background is especially useful for the algorithm-analysis problems that blend logic with computation.
Having studied computer science at UMass Amherst through both a bachelor's and now a master's program, Milo has spent years writing Java and building software well beyond what the AP exam covers — which means he can contextualize topics like array traversal, class hierarchies, and method overloading within the bigger picture of how real programs work. Three years tutoring in UMass's tutoring center taught him exactly where students get stuck, especially on tricky free-response questions that require tracing through nested logic step by step. Rated 5.0 by students.
I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University studying computer science, currently focusing on iOS and game development. I like growing as a person, but I find it much more interesting and rewarding to grow other people. Seeing a student change, not in intellect but in perspective, is fascinating. I like to focus more on concepts rather than memorization so that students will have the tools to excel in any facet of academia, beyond some random test that holds too much significance.
I'm currently majoring in bioengineering/pre-med at Rice University. I graduated as the valedictorian of my high school class. My interests include biology, math, and violin performance. I've done neuroscience research at the Jungers Center for Neuroscience Reseach and the Oregon National Primate Research Center. I've also done molecular biology research at the Oregon Stem Cell Center.
