I am a lifelong learner, teacher, and researcher in the field of physics. I received a PhD in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Rice University. I have four years of physics teaching experience at the University of Michigan, primarily undergraduate laboratory courses with an emphasis on electromagnetism, circuits, waves, optics, and real-world applications of these and other physical phenomena. Many of these courses, including one I helped design, focused on helping non-STEM students master physics concepts that may be difficult to grasp in a standard classroom setting. I have tutored in a variety of subjects since high school, but most recently I have spent several years helping students understand concepts and succeed in coursework throughout a large variety of college-level physics topics, from basic mechanics to advanced electrodynamics and special relativity.

I am a chemistry/math tutor with hundreds of hours teaching both subjects. What separates me from other tutors is my fantastic attention to the learning styles of different students, and my ability to attune my teaching style to each individual student. I am a big believer in letting students utilize tutoring time in the way they believe best, and I try to make myself a resource more than an instructor, which reinforces good study habits as well as lets me help the student with subject material. I will be attending the University of Michigan to major in Mathematics in the Fall.

I am a current sophomore at Yale University, studying Environmental Engineering and Global Affairs. I spent four years tutoring K-12 students in reading and math, and I believe in the importance of appreciating the process of learning and mastering concepts.

I am a PhD student at the University of Michigan, studying social psychology. Before this, I was at Duke University completing a BS in psychology as well as a MS in global health. My research combines the fields of global health and psychology by examining the effects of culture on self-related psychological processes. I hope to continue in academia to become a professor of psychology, as teaching is among my greatest passions.

I am a learner for life and I love sharing my knowledge with others. I have tutored middle-school students for one year and university students for two years. My focus is mainly on mathematics, chemistry, and related fields. I have degrees in both mathematics and biomedical engineering so I cover a lot of ground in the physiological sciences, computer programming, and statistics as well. Taking tests is one of my strong points and I have some killer strategies to share!

I am a Computer Science graduate from the University of Michigan, initially from central New Jersey. I have worked to tutor students through Varsity Tutors for around 4 years. I am confident in my abilities to tutor with college admissions exams such as the SAT and ACT, including specialized SAT subject tests. I also tutor in math, until Multivariable Calculus, and can help with computer science skills and languages. I believe teaching is best done through discussion and conversation, and lead my tutoring sessions with this mentality. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy playing tennis, piano, and exploring new coffee shops!

I am currently a fourth year dental student at University of Michigan. I graduated from Barrett, the Honors College at Arizona State University with a double Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Psychology. I have been tutoring for approximately eleven years, and have worked with students ranging from third grade to college students. I began tutoring as a way to give back to the community, help students become interested in the world around them and grasp the knowledge just waiting at their fingertips. I have tutored a variety of subjects including Math, Reading, Writing, and Science classes, as well as standardized tests such as the SAT and assisted with college admission essays. I really enjoy tutoring Math, because it was one of the subjects I struggled with the most while going through Middle School and High School. It taught me how essential it is to have a strong foundation not just in Math, but in any and every subject. Having struggled in certain courses before, I understand how frustrated students might get if they are struggling to understand something that is not "sticking," and I try to make tutoring more interactive and fun to counteract that. Also, I focus on making sure students truly understand the concepts we are learning, rather than just memorizing facts in the moment. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, playing badminton, singing, and traveling to new cities around the World.

I'm Uchenna! I'm from Beltsville, MD and I currently am taking a year off between my third and fourth years at the University of Michigan Medical School to do biomedical research at the NIH. I also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a B.S. in Biochemistry and a minor in Psychology. I have quite a few years of tutoring under my belt as I tutored for about 3 years when I was at UMBC. And although I had no formal tutoring positions in medical school, my classmates and I constantly taught each other our material and various concepts. I love tutoring because I know trying to be successful in your coursework can be difficult and when you can help someone throughout that journey, it truly is beneficial for both tutee and tutor seeing the mutual satisfaction in that person's progress.
