Award-Winning Conversational Spanish Tutors serving Oxford, United Kingdom

I am a rising sophomore at Harvard College and am about to declare as a Mechanical Engineering concentrator, working towards a Bachelor of Science degree. I've always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with my peers and those around me and have done so in both formal and informal settings. I've been a tutor for both Math and Spanish programs in high school and enjoyed the strides I made with students. I am willing to tutor any subject I have a background in, but am strong in mathematics, the sciences, Spanish, history, writing, and ACT prep. I enjoy teaching mathematics most due to the joy I can see in children once they master a topic and can answer even pointed questions meant to stump them, and maybe even put their knowledge to real world use. As a tutor, I like to give a strong foundation to orient my student, and then gradually grant them more freedom and independence until they can feel themselves grasp the concept, pointing out pitfalls or common errors along the way; teachers who used these methods on me always left the most lasting impressions. Outside of my studies, I really enjoy listening to music, both old favorites and new interests, reading classics, and gaming/playing basketball with my friends.

I am passionate about education, learning, teaching, and specifically literatures and languages. I have experience as an ESL teacher for young children and teens, as well as experience working as a Writing Consultant at my undergraduate institution. I also spent all four years of my undergraduate career volunteering as an SAT tutor for local high schoolers. Beyond this, I have experience both as a private and public Spanish tutor. I love to help students reach their educational and personal goals in any way that I can.
I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.
I am a 2015 graduate of Northwestern University, with an undergraduate journalism major/Spanish minor and a graduate degree in journalism. During my time at NU, I spent a semester at Madrid's top-ranked university, taking upper-level history and literature courses with Spanish students. I now work at a trade magazine in Midtown covering real estate.
I am a rising senior at Harvard College pursuing an AB in Government. Academically, I have diverse interests, including history, language, math, physics, philosophy, music, and politics. In high school, I tutored elementary, middle, and high school students in music, math, ACT and SAT prep, and Spanish. At Harvard, I spent a year as a course assistant in the math department, helping to teach introductory undergraduate calculus. Currently, I volunteer with the Leadership Institute at Harvard College (LIHC) as part of its Social Outreach Committee. This work involves teaching a weekly course called "Fundamentals of Leadership" to a class of middle school students. Overall, I have found my experiences tutoring math to be the most rewarding.
I am a working professional in hospitality and real estate with several years of work experience in Spanish speaking countries (Mexico & the Dominican Republic). I received a Bachelor of Science in Evolutionary Anthropology and a Master's in Marketing & Hospitality. I'm a language and science nerd; in addition to Spanish, I am conversational in Brazilian Portuguese and am currently studying several other languages on my own (Italian, French, German, Chinese, Japanese).
I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in violin performance at the Juilliard School. I have tutored privately and through Chegg Tutoring, Varsity Tutors, PrepExpert, and iLearn World throughout high school and college, with most of my experience being in standardized test prep and English. The most fulfilling moments that I have with my students are when I see them applying previous lessons and skills to new challenges. I believe that a good teacher not only helps a student tackle specific, formulaic kinds of questions, but also imparts the skills necessary for adapting to the diverse intellectual challenges that life presents. My goal is always for my students to leave their sessions having learned something that will be useful for years to come, not just on the next test that they are preparing for. After all, education is a lifelong process!
I am a firm believer that all students learn differently and identifying how each student best learns is essential to his/her academic success. Therefore, as a tutor, I aim to specifically tailor my teaching style to each student in order to help them maximize their potential. Outside of academics, I enjoy exercising, playing basketball, cooking, and attending concerts and other live performances in the Philadelphia area.

I recently received my Juris Doctor degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and began my career as an attorney. I am passionate about continuing my work in education through tutoring. I enjoy tutoring many subjects, particularly History, SAT Reading and Writing, College Essays, and Spanish. I love assisting students in implementing simple but effective changes in their preparation for Standardized Tests that show immediate results. I find this motivates students to continue through struggles in their educational pursuits. When I am not working, I enjoy yoga, running, cooking, traveling and playing the cello.

I am no stranger to people getting tutors in order to succeed. An ambition to accomplish any academic goal was encouraged all my life; thus, I am accustomed to studying hard on top of participating in countless extra-curricular activities. I graduated highs school and received a diploma from the extremely rigorous International Baccalaureate (IB) program, and began attending an Ivy League college, the University of Pennsylvania, in 2016. With all this said, I am confident that I will be able to teach clients effective ways to solve any problems they have.

I am currently a sophomore studying Psychology and German at Carleton College. I have experience working with high school students helping them do homework in various subjects, but I would love to expand my experiences with tutoring and focus on teaching elementary and middle schoolers. I love to write, horseback ride, draw, and my favorite subjects include English, Psychology, Spanish, German, and Biology! I am looking forward to tutoring students in a variety of Elementary School level subjects.
I'm not tutoring, I spend my time writing and performing spoken word poetry, riding my bike around Boston, and learning to cook.
I'm home, I'm likely cooking or watching soccer. If I'm traveling for fun, it will likely be to Europe or South America.
I am an undergraduate student at Yale University. I am working towards a Bachelor of Science in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology along with a certificate of advanced language in Spanish. I currently do research studying changes in stem cells and gene expression during different planarian physiological processes. I am extremely interested in biochemical and biophysical processes, closely tied to my interest in STEM courses and education. I have the most experience tutoring math, science, and Spanish, using my personal and current education with feedback from previous students to refine my approach. In high school I started a student success center during covid to provide free online tutoring, providing tutors in all subjects during set hours of the week. I work hard to create a comfortable environment to reduce the stresses and pressures of tutoring, not only allowing me to enhance my student's education but do so in a way that is most suited to their learning styles. I have gone through the college application process recently and would love to share my knowledge of standardized testing (study tips, general questions, and subject-specific tutoring), college preparation, and the application process. Outside of the classroom, I dance for Sabrosura (Yale's Premier Latin Dance team), explore what borders campus on walks and hikes, and love trying new foods and experiences.

For the past three years, I have been working as a classroom Teacher in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grade classrooms, teaching students with a variety of needs. I am passionate about learning and spreading that love of learning to others. Whether it be music, math, history, literature, or science, I have embraced education whole-heartedly my entire life and have had many wonderful experiences effectively sharing that passion with others and helping younger students find it in themselves for whatever subject(s) they struggle in or desire to pursue in greater depth. I look forward to getting to you know my students and their parents. By working together, I am confident that we can help any student achieve their academic goals and find their own love of learning.
I am a graduate of Harvard University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies with a focus in food policy and law. During my undergraduate studies I spent my time in political organizations and in research, teaching fellowships on political philosophy at Harvard Effective Altruism and serving as a Visiting Researcher in food policy at the University of Cambridge. After graduating, I spent time as a researcher in political science and history and mentored students working towards attending top schools in the US and UK, providing one-on-one help with applications and developing seminars on topics like Sociology and English. Most recently, I have started a non-profit organization in Ecuador focused on educating families about healthy cooking and providing nutritional assistance. At the same time, I am excited to continue pursuing my passion for teaching and helping students navigate subjects like History, English Literature, ESL, Spanish, and Standardized Tests like the ACT, AP, and IB tests. I believe that the knowledge young people receive in primary and secondary education is the ultimate individual enrichment; an essential part of understanding who they are and a key to seeing who they may become. In my spare time, I walk, read history books like Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals, and listen to music like Led Zeppelin and Lana del Rey.
I am studying to get my PhD at the University of Chicago. I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring a variety of ages and subjects (in particular, I have the most experience tutoring for the PSAT, SAT and college admissions essays, as well as math, English literature and Spanish to middle school students). My favorite subject to tutor is Math because it was my favorite as a child and adolescent. I love interacting and getting to know those students with whom I work because I believe that having a good connection and feeling comfortable is a key first step in a successful tutoring relationship. I enjoy walking all over the city and reading (often at the same time), as well as running, sports of all kinds, and coffee over a good conversation.

I am extremely comfortable with physics and mathematics (from my studies) as well as biology, chemistry, and biochemistry (through my research experience) and sincerely enjoy tutoring students in those areas. I also enjoy tutoring for standardized tests. While I was studying for the SAT, ACT, and MCAT, all of my preparation was through self-study; as a result, I have a unique approach to preparing for tests that emphasizes knowing the test itself more than the actual material. In addition to tutoring natural sciences and standardized test prep, I tutor Spanish, which I studied for 7 years and spoke for a year while living in Spain. In my spare time, I play guitar, cook for my friends, read, and play with my cat Suki.

In high school, I led three after school enrichment tutoring programs for middle school students. On the side, I independently tutored 9th and 10th grade high school students with a particular focus in writing. I have developed an effective method of developing students' expository essay writing skills, and it is so rewarding to see students' pride in their personal improvement. I am comfortable tutoring in a wide variety of subjects, and my greatest strengths are high school writing and middle school mathematics. My enthusiasm and love for learning is contagious, and there is never a dull moment in my tutoring sessions!
I am enrolled in the Simmons College Graduate School of Library and Information Science, and upon completing my Master's degree, I hope to work in a special collections library with rare books and manuscripts.
I am a graduate of Cornell University and received a Bachelor of Arts in Music. Currently, I am working as an Assistant Director at a preparatory school managing and teaching students simultaneously. In the recent years at the school, I have been focusing more on the Reading portions of standardized tests but have at times assisted students in the math and science portions as well usually one-on-one. I strongly believe that every students has their own style of learning and must learn at their own pace. Although, sometimes giving them too much leeway may not always be the best solution, I am there to also provide encouragement and challenge to make the learning process enjoyable and beneficial. Apart from work, I do enjoy reading, jogging, exploring New York City, and playing the violin during my spare time.
I am known among friends for my love of puzzles, riddles, word problems, and mathematical challenges. I have a deep knowledge of pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and pre-calculus and a passion for teaching it. I also enjoy tutoring Spanish. While foundational vocab and grammar are important, I emphasize speaking and encourage my students to take risks. I believe embracing discomfort is critical to learning a language. Spanish has helped me to travel and live in different communities throughout the world. I strive to kindle a similar appreciation and passion for language in my students.
I am a Rice University graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Cognitive Sciences and a minor in Spanish. In the fall, I plan on beginning a master's in Human-Computer Interaction at University College London. I have extensive experience helping students with Math, Writing, Spanish, and the ACT. I am starting graduate school in September of 2024 (PhD in clinical psychology at UMass Boston). Throughout high school, I tutored all subjects at a nearby elementary school. I also tutored another high school student in Spanish, at the request of my Spanish teacher. Before college, I took a gap year to pursue music. During the gap year, I tutored a neighborhood seventh-grade girl in math and writing. Over the years, I have come to better understand how much I enjoy providing one-on-one support to children. I have been particularly successful in helping children who easily get frustrated and lose patience. As a recent student, I would be very excited to help others feel confident in their schoolwork. I understand the stress and frustration that can come with academics, and I would love to help students turn those feelings into pride, confidence, and enjoyment of learning. Please message me if you are interested or would like to learn more! I'd love to meet you.

Through many years of classes and living abroad, my Spanish grammar is on par with, if not better than, my English grammar. I have tutored kindergarteners to grad students and everywhere between in a wide variety of subjects, including ACT test prep, and I believe that everyone is capable of learning with the right amount of patience, motivation, and strategy. In my free time I like to play sports, play board games, bake, and just adventure around.
