I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

I'm Solange - a recent graduate from Harvard where I studied Sociology & Women's Studies. I've been tutoring for eight years now, and have worked with a wide range of ages and in a wide range of subjects. Some of my specialties are college prep/test taking II worked in the admissions office on campus); social sciences; and literature/writing.

I am currently attending Johns Hopkins University, pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science and Applied Math and Statistics. I love helping students and I love the feeling I get knowing that I was able to use my knowledge to make someone else happier. My favorite subject to teach is math because there are so many ways to learn it and if one way does not help I can use another. I used to teach taekwondo and interacted with all kinds of students, and I'm excited to help out more!

I am exploring my creativity by pursuing a double major in Asian Languages and Cultures with a focus in Korean, studying abroad in South Korea as a Benjamin A. Gilman Scholar, leading workshops that teach 3D printing and CAD for undergraduate students as the president of 3D4E, advocating for the first-generation and low-income student community as the Outreach Chair of the Quest+ Scholars Network, and getting involved with the Society of Women Engineers' outreach committee. I currently hold a work-study position as an administrative clerical aide in the Institute of Sustainability and Energy at Northwestern and was an undergraduate researcher in the John Rogers Lab. As I look forward with aspirations of applying to graduate school, areas of research in biomedical engineering and biotechnology that I am particularly interested in include biomaterials, pharmaceuticals, and drug delivery systems. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy learning on my own and sharing my experience and knowledge with my peers and other students. I hope to make use of my experiences with academics and learning in high school and so far in my undergraduate career in order to effectively tutor students who may be experiencing the same struggles in learning that I also experienced.

I am excited to be home and help fellow straphangers on their educational paths! My largest wealth of tutoring experience is in foreign languages--particularly French--but I also feel very comfortable editing essays of any kind and working through standardized test concepts. I am a graduate of the University of Chicago, with a bachelor's degree in psychology and linguistics. Currently, I am pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Teachers College, Columbia University. In the past, I have worked as a teacher's aide in a public school classroom, a mentor to middle school girls, an instructor and tutor at the literacy education organization 826, and a summer camp counselor. I tutor a diverse range of subjects, and I find that I especially enjoy tutoring language arts, reading, and writing at all levels, from elementary school all the way up to college/grad school test prep. I'm Anna! I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.

I am a Yale University graduate with over seven years of tutoring experience with children and adults of all ages, specializing in writing, reading, English, college prep, and working with differently-abled learners. I am currently a rising Junior at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and minoring in Science, Technology, and Society. From early on, the intellectual development of others has been very important to me. In high school, I developed my school's first summer tutoring program to ensure that students retained information and were prepared for the upcoming year. I am most passionate about tutoring Political Science, History, and Math, with significant experience in helping students in each of these subject areas. I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in violin performance at the Juilliard School. I have tutored privately and through Chegg Tutoring, Varsity Tutors, PrepExpert, and iLearn World throughout high school and college, with most of my experience being in standardized test prep and English. The most fulfilling moments that I have with my students are when I see them applying previous lessons and skills to new challenges. I believe that a good teacher not only helps a student tackle specific, formulaic kinds of questions, but also imparts the skills necessary for adapting to the diverse intellectual challenges that life presents. My goal is always for my students to leave their sessions having learned something that will be useful for years to come, not just on the next test that they are preparing for. I am a current first-year honors student at Northeastern University pursuing a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in History, Culture, and Law. I am a youth activist and have experience working for campaigns and elected officials and am particularly passionate about mental health, climate change prevention, and LGBTQ+ rights. I am a Stanford student from Maryland studying Political Science and Computer Science. I graduated from high school in 2015, where I was active as the captain of my high school sailing team, a section leader in the orchestra, and part of the STEM magnet program Project Lead the Way. I am currently taking some time off from school to be around family here in Massachusetts and while I will be taking a few classes, I have plenty of time and lots of flexibility. I'm starting my junior year at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. I am currently an undergraduate student at Stanford University, and I recently graduated top of my class from Phillips Academy, a prestigious private boarding school in Massachusetts. For the past few years, I have tutored students of all different ages, serving as a peer tutor, faculty-nominated department tutor, and mentor for elementary school students. Although I tutor many different subjects, I am particularly passionate about Writing, Math, Physics, and Economics. My tutees and I always have a lot of fun revising essays, and academic research experience has given me a better appreciation of the other subjects. I am also well-versed in standardized test prep. My teaching philosophy is that no subject or concept is beyond the capabilities of any studentwe must only find the right teaching method. I would characterize my tutoring style as adaptable and empowering. I want to focus on not only solving the given problem or revising an essay, but also developing the skills and thinking process to apply to other assignments. For instance, one of my preferred teaching methods utilizes the Socratic method.

I am a current student at Yale University pursuing a degree in English. Since I was little, writing and storytelling has been one of my biggest passions. Though back then, I often told stories to my friends and family as though they were truth, once they helped me find the page I've had much, much more success. I have been tutoring kids since I was in high school, but I've also spent many hours working with kids on the baseball diamond as a coach, as well as as a camp counselor. My philosophy is that I know how hard and difficult (and sometimes annoying) high school English and History classes can be, and my goal is to try and bring a little fun back into the material while making sure we do what it takes to master your craft as a budding young writer, whether in a rhetorical analysis of Pride and Prejudice or in your CommonApp personal essay.

I'm a sophomore at Harvard studying Applied Math, Economics, and Computer Science. I've tutored in a variety of subjects throughout high school and currently work part-time as a Course Assistant for an Introductory Calculus course at Harvard. I especially love tutoring math and making it a more accessible subject for students to learn. I spent a year in Indonesia working at a disability rights NGO and helping my adult coworkers as well as elementary school- and college-aged students develop English language skills. I am a rising sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania majoring in International Relations and minoring in French and English. The studies of English and Literature have been my passion for a long time. I enjoy reading about cultures while familiarizing myself with the world’s diverse peoples. In my first year of University, I took three English courses and an intensive Writing Seminar which helped me develop my ability of analyzing, interpreting and explaining complex English texts while improving my written and oral communication skills.

I am currently a sophomore at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, majoring in Human Development with a minor in Education. I tutor a variety of subjects, I am the most passionate about English. I am a senior at the University of Pennsylvania, studying the Biological Basis of Behavior with minors in Spanish and Health Care Management. I have had extensive experience tutoring students one-on-one in West Philadelphia from elementary grammar to high school neuroscience, as well as ACT prep. I am extremely patient and encouraging. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Literature/Creative Writing at the University of Denver. Prior to beginning my doctoral studies, I was a creative writing/English lecturer at Washington University in St. Louis where I completed my MFA and senior post-graduate teaching fellowship. Before my time in St. Louis and Denver, I taught English Literature at the Loomis Chaffee School in Connecticut and, earlier, at Germantown High School in Philadelphia. During my time at Loomis and Germantown, I taught English Lit I/III, Contemporary Literature, 10th grade grammar and expository writing seminars, Literature of the Sea, Experimental Novel, and Creative Writing. At Wash U, I taught Fiction Writing I, II, and Microfiction, and last year I facilitated pedagogy training for Wash U MFA graduate students. I currently tutor at DU's Writing Center and, beginning this fall, I will teach undergraduate fiction classes. I have a marked interest in modern and contemporary fiction, though I very much look forward to helping students with all craft/literature/essay writing/verbal test taking endeavors.

I am a graduate of Vanderbilt University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Neuroscience and minor in Art. I am currently a student at the University of Illinois at Chicago working towards a Master in Medical Physiology. Since graduation, I have worked remotely for my lab that studies child development and applying to medical school. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about psychology and biology.
