Through my experience as a student, undergraduate teaching assistant (peer tutor/AI), and research mentor, I learned that effective and empowering learning is mostly about HOW you study as opposed to HOW MUCH you study. My best teachers always taught me to focus on solidifying the big picture (high yield) concepts first and add in smaller (low yield) details afterwards. This practice of breaking down complex ideas into fundamental first principles made me understand just how powerful knowledge could be and how it could be used to solve the world's hardest problems. This made even the smallest and most tedious of details easy to learn. I applied these same concepts to my students with tremendous success. I was honored to receive the Emily Dudek Undergraduate Teaching Award for my commitment to my students and their success in the class. Since graduation, I have conducted research in Radiation Oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and am pursuing a medical degree. While I come from a science background, I have experience tutoring a broad range of subjects, including English, Math, and Standardized testing.
