This could be working with students who are used to counting in base 12 (who knew you could keep track of numbers by knuckles spaces between the inner side of your fingers!), multiply by counting vertices in the Latin print of numerals involved, or simply those who have never had someone to help foster their growth in their skills in mathematics! After a few sessions, students start to see how fast they are capturing the material and how much of it starts to make sense for them in real-time; this is especially prevalent once we diagnose where the student is having problems day one and start chipping away until a complete picture is built for the student to grasp. I aspire to earn my PhD in Physics after college.I have previous experience tutoring middle and high school students.
