Throughout my time as a student, I have experienced just how frustrating learning can sometimes be when you are pushing yourself to understand material that is just not clicking. While at Brown I worked as a member of the Brown Writing Fellows, a group of selected and trained students who show and aptitude in writing, editing, and the teaching of the two, and No Small Parts, an educational group that led performance and theatre workshops at schools in Providence, Rhode Island.As far as my high school education/scores go, I graduated from Saddle River Day School (a small private high school in Bergen County, NJ) in 2008 as salutatorian and as a member of the Cum Laude National Honors Society. I was also the recipient of the Bradford Cooke Sommer Humanitarian Scholarship (2007) as well as the University of Rochester Bausch & Lomb Honorary Science Scholarship (2007). In regards to more specific subjects, I was an AP Scholar with Distinction having taken U.S. History, Calculus AB, Biology, Spanish Language, Spanish Literature, and English Literature.I received a cumulative score of 2250 on my SATs (Reading 750, Math 700, Writing 800, Essay 12).

I am passionate about learning American Sign Language and look forward to pursuing a certificate in the language! I have a passion for literature, and I greatly enjoy writing my analysis and conclusions down, manipulating the English language to reflect exactly what I mean.I believe in cognitive learning; that is, I believe students should always have the opportunity to voice what they have learned. That way, I can understand the way each student grasps concepts, and it allows me to see exactly where a student has trouble with a concept.Outside of academia, I work with an animal rescue and service dog training program. I take part in the rehabilitation process for dogs who need to learn how to live in a home, and I assist in training the service dogs. As the Director for Public Relations for the branch, I also oversee the public aspect of the organization.

I am a temporary lecturer at Baylor University, where I teach SPA 1301 and 1302. I graduated from Baylor in 2019 with a Master of Arts in Spanish, where I wrote a thesis on physical and psychological death in the poetry of Federico Garcia Lorca. I am graduating from the University of North Texas this summer (2022) with a Master of Arts in French. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and another in French from the University of St. Thomas, with a minor in General Business, in 2016. I earned the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America program.My philosophy in language learning is to help the student fall in love with the language and the possibilities inherent in speaking another language; this includes studying the diverse cultures that speak it, not only in Europe, but in North America, Africa, and Asia. I want to help students learn another language to interact with more people and broaden their perspectives, in order to become better global citizens.

I have a JD and an LLM from Cornell Law School, and a BA in History from Yale. In the past I've worked as a law clerk at the Arizona Supreme Court and as a corporate attorney, but, for the past 3 years, have worked in technology startups. I'm currently the co-founder of a software-as-a-service company based in NYC. I left law to pursue my passion for technology and I've learned a tremendous amount by working in the tech startup space.I've enjoyed tutoring for many years, including editing essays, papers, and articles, and tutoring students in subjects such as physics, chemistry, math, English, and writing skills. I've also enjoyed helping students prepare for the college or grad school application process. As the recipient of tutoring myself as a high school student, I know firsthand the value that dedicated, passionate, and informed tutors can bring to students.
