I first started tutoring as a sophomore in high school, helping kids younger than me get through some of their tougher classes. When I was in college I continued tutoring after approached by my Biology and Chemistry professors. The one thing I enjoy most about tutoring is helping someone to achieve that breakthrough moment. I am a graduate of Wellesley College and was a Jewish Studies major there; my concentration was in Hebrew language - both Biblical and modern. My academic interests centered around the study of Tanach (Hebrew Bible) and the ancient world - specifically the birth of rabbinic Judaism and the Jesus movement out of first century Palestine in the Roman Empire - but my course of study was very language-heavy: by the end of my time there, I was taking Biblical Hebrew, modern Hebrew, and German simultaneously.

I am a professional life science researcher and graduate of Brandeis University, where I earned both my masters and bachelors in biochemistry. I'm passionate about science, discovery, and teaching, which is why I am pursuing both research and tutoring. I am also an avid reader, writer, and learner.I have over 5 years of experience working with students from the junior high to collegiate level and would love to use my experience and expertise to help students master new concepts and skills. I graduated with two Masters degrees from St. Vladimir's Seminary (Valedictorian, Magna Cum Laude, Special Commendation for Thesis), and I am currently preparing to enter a PhD program.I am very comfortable with the subjects of English grammar and reading because I was the managing editor of my college newspaper and also interned at the Washington Times and two Washington DC think tanks in the communications department.In addition to that experience, I am constantly working with students to help them improve their writing and grammar.I have also taught drum lessons to all ages and I can adjust to the learner regardless of age or ability.It goes without saying that I am also quite comfortable with computers and Microsoft Office. I have a DUEL from University of Paris X/Nanterre. I later moved to New York City and Chicago where I obtained a Bachelors in jazz Performance/Upright bass. I also graduated from DePaul University with a Masters in Education and from Vandercook College of Music with a Masters in Music Education. I have taught music in the chicago Public school system, as well as tutoring students of all ages in French, since it is my native language. For me, using study aids that are outside of the box help me memorize my school work while using unique techniques, and I want that to be shown to other students as well.My teaching philosophy is to create an environment that encourages student learning and allows students to approach me for further understanding. I acknowledge and understand that every student's learning style is different. Rather than look down on a student's failure, I encourage a reflection on their failure in order to develop their skills and understanding.
