Urban Design and Development Tutoring FAQ
The field of urban design and development critically examines the ways in which metropolitan areas are constructed in order to best meet the needs of their citizens. It combines principles of architecture and design with factors drawn from a variety of other subjects, such as aesthetics, ecology, economics, geography, geology, and public health. Due to the breadth of conceptual factors that are often involved in good urban design, you need to receive expert feedback on your initial forays into the subject in order to gain the skills and perspective you require to create superb plans for metropolitan spaces. If the way in which your urban design class is being taught is not meshing well with the way in which you best learn, or you feel that expert one-on-one attention could help you hone your skills, you may want to consider personal urban design and development tutoring. Varsity Tutors can help you to connect with a one-on-one tutor who is a content expert and can give you the guidance, feedback, and constructive criticism that you need in order to develop your skills efficiently and effectively.

Recent Urban Design and Development Tutoring Session Notes
We spent time studying for the student's upcoming Law exam. We've been using his studying as a way to review better note taking skills, and to discuss what each teacher wants and how to apply those desires into study skills for each class. He also has a Sales exam on Thursday. This is an essay and multiple choice test.
The student and I met and we went over a few items on his midterm study guide. Specifically, we covered APA format and reviewed the articles that were going to be on the midterm. Then we met with his professor to arrange his testing environment for the midterm. Finally, he took the exam. I read the questions to him and filled in my sheet with his responses.
The student and I worked on his English homework, as well as his Latin homework. We came up with a good system for studying Latin, by having him teach me. We will try doing that with other subjects.
We primarily reviewed the same skills we've been working on, organization through his three planning books. He filled out his study plan for the week, updated both the workflow and planner, and we reorganized his folders, which had spilled during the week. He did the assignment asked of him, to research study skills on his own and discuss what he'd found. We also discussed his goals and reviewed his current grade status.
I met with student and reviewed career goals as a method of getting him to improve grades. I had given him homework to write a synopsis of pros and cons of his career goals. We also spoke of life issues he may face as obstacles to achieving a life goal.
The student has worked hard at understanding a specific type of note-taking. We worked on study skills, such as how to use a Punnett square and how to give a speech when you are nervous.
