With over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring, I have a deep passion for fostering students' love of literature and writing. I earned my PhD in English from the University of Iowa, where I also completed my Master's degree, and I hold a Bachelor's in English from Hendrix College, where I also focused on philosophy and classics. My expertise spans AP English Language and Literature, College English, and Creative Writing, allowing me to cater to diverse student needs. I believe in creating a supportive learning environment that encourages critical thinking and self-expression. I take pride in helping students not only improve their writing skills but also discover their unique voices. Outside the classroom, I love to read and write fanfiction, check out live music, sing to my dog while I cook, and go to as many baseball games as possible.

I love to read--especially philosophy, short story collections, and detective novels set in Victorian England. I am a huge baseball fan and want to visit each major league stadium--so far I've been to 13. I love live music, and have traveled to different states to see my favorite bands perform. My friends often use me as a beta-reader (or, editor) for their fanfiction.
