Supporting students on their learning journey is a passion of mine. Through homeschooling and substitute teaching, I've seen firsthand how powerful it is when a student knows someone believes in their ability to succeed. My teaching roles in both classrooms and co-ops have brought experience working with a range of learners, including those with ADHD, Autism and unique learning preferences such as kinesthetic and visual styles.
My academic preparation includes a Bachelor of Science in Applied Management and an MBA in Management with a Marketing focus from Grand Canyon University, along with studies in Art and Religious Studies from Hardin-Simmons University. This multifaceted background allows me to approach student growth from both creative and practical perspectives.
I specialize in tutoring photography, art, writing and literature. Photography, in particular, provides a calming focus that I love sharing, while writing serves as a powerful form of self-expression for me and my students. My teaching philosophy encourages curiosity that makes learning relevant to real life, and most importantly, fosters a student's belief in their own ability to learn and grow.
Outside of academics, I find balance and renewal in time spent with my horses and other animals, as well as in painting, reading, and family activities like riding in the mountains. These interests inspire the creative, encouraging and adaptable approach I bring to every tutoring session, empowering students to become confident and lifelong learners.
