Certified Tutor

I am currently a sophomore pursuing my undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I have a strong passion for helping students develop confidence and skills in reading, writing, and critical thinking. My tutoring journey began in high school, where I worked with SMath Tutors to teach SAT English, writing, and grammar. Since then, I have expanded my experience to include guiding students in reading comprehensionparticularly with elementary school learnersand providing in-depth essay review and feedback for high school and college-level writing.

In addition to my tutoring background, I have honed my own writing skills through research paper composition and as a contributor to The Daily Tar Heel, UNC's student newspaper. These experiences have strengthened my ability to help students with analytical writing, persuasive arguments, and clear communication. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into approachable steps and tailoring my teaching style to meet each student's individual needs.

While I tutor a variety of subjects, I am especially passionate about English and writing because of the doors they open for academic and professional success. I believe that strong language skills are foundational to learning across all disciplines, and I strive to create an encouraging environment where students feel supported, challenged, and empowered to express themselves. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading thought-provoking literature, exploring creative writing, and engaging with current events through journalism.
