Certified Tutor

I grew up in Ukraine and moved to the US in 2018. I've been working as a one-on-one instructional aid and as a tutor for about five years. I have my Bachelor's in Educational Studies and I'm working on my Masters and Licensure as an Interventionist.
I lean a bit Montessori in my teaching style, building my lessons around exploration and rich experiences. I'm neurodivergent and a third-culture kid. I know firsthand how intimidating school and academics can be for kids who are like me. I'm willing to implement creative learning or unconventional learning solutions if they yield good results. I love teaching math and reading very much. Both require a lot of hidden cognitive skills that most of us don't think twice about. I love diving into those skills and figuring out just what part we need to practice to get my student thinking critically and solving problems!
