As a dedicated tutor with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sweet Briar College, I am passionate about fostering strong literacy and numeracy skills in elementary students. With over 5 years of tutoring experience, I have worked extensively with students from kindergarten to fifth grade, focusing on subjects such as reading, writing, and math. My teaching philosophy centers on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where mistakes are viewed as valuable learning opportunities. I utilize tailored lessons and scaffolding techniques to meet each student's unique needs, helping them build confidence and develop a love for learning. I enjoy connecting academic concepts to real-life scenarios, making learning relevant and enjoyable. Outside of tutoring, I am a chess player and an artist, which enhances my strategic and creative thinking and problem-solving skills, qualities I strive to impart to my students.
