Certified Tutor

I'm a college student studying literature and French at Lawrence University and entering my third year. I have experience tutoring high school and college-level students in French as both a university tutor and through freelance work. I am pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in French, but my studies encompass literature and philosophy generally, and I am skilled in reading and writing at the college level in both French and English.

I am interested in helping students identify and meet their specific goals in French and writing, and I take great joy in the personal and collaborative aspect of learning with a tutor. I feel that the tutoring experience should be seen as essentially collaborative and not simply a tutor lecturing a tutee. Therefore, as a tutor, I make an effort to ask questions and maintain an interactive and enjoyable learning experience for the tutee.

I'm happy to help with French grammar and pronunciation as well as with developing skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the language.

I am also skilled in English writing and composition, and can help with developing theses and arguments, essay craft and structure, and editing written work in humanities disciplines. I can also provide help with academic speaking and writing in French.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading, writing, playing the piano, and language learning.
