Certified Tutor
Hello,
I am a graduate of Gannon University with an Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology and a Bachelor's Degree in General Science. I continued my education at Youngstown State University where I received my Master's Degree in Educational Administration and also received another Master's Degree in Library Science from Kent State Univsersity.
I'm passionate about helping students because I truly believe that learning can be empowering when it's personalized and supported. Watching a student gain confidence in a subject that once felt overwhelming is incredibly rewarding. Every learner has potentialmy job is to help uncover and nurture it.
I've worked with students in both classroom and one-on-one settings, ranging from elementary through high school. My experience includes tutoring in science as well as supporting special education needs. I focus on building strong relationships so students feel safe asking questions and taking academic risks.
Science is my favorite subject to tutor because it invites curiosity and hands-on learning. I love guiding students to make real-world connections and helping them understand how the world worksfrom the smallest cell to the vastness of space.
My teaching philosophy is student-centered and encouraging. I aim to create a calm, positive environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them. My tutoring style adapts to each learner and I use visuals, real-life examples, guided practice, and a lot of patience to meet students where they are.
Outside of tutoring, I enjoy being outdoors, making art, reading, and spending time with family and pets. I also love learning new things, whether it's through podcasts, DIY projects, or exploring local history.
